6 p.m. Art Opening with Jenni Bee
My works comes from my love to every living creature and my deep connection to nature. Sometimes I paint what springs from within me, such as dream images.
Born in Italy to Russian immigrants, Jenni Belotserkovsky grew up in Germany where she studied graphic design. There she worked as a graphic designer and a typesetter before setting out to explore the world. She now lives in Vermont, where she teaches art and curates an art kiosk. Jenni has had her art exhibited throughout Central VT. You can find her paintings and drawings at: www.facebook.com/JenniBeeArt.
Paintings by Jenni Bee will be on display from July 7 to September 1
7 p.m. Reading with Author Leda Schubert
Leda Schubert, a many-decades resident of Plainfield, has been a teacher, librarian, and faculty member at VCFA. She is the author of ten picture books including MONSIEUR MARCEAU, which won the Orbis Pictus Award for Outstanding Nonfiction from the NCTE; BALLET OF THE ELEPHANTS, which made many best books lists, and HERE COMES DARRELL, about the late Plainfield resident Darrell Farnham. Her newest book is LISTEN: HOW PETE SEEGER GOT AMERICA SINGING (Neal Porter/Roaring Brook), illustrated by Raul Colon, and she'll be reading the book and, if there's time, talking about Pete. Refreshments will be served.
