Call to Poets:
Poets, you are invited to participate in an Ekphrastic poetry event! Write a poem inspired by a work of art. Choose a work of art from CONNECTION, an exciting exhibition of visual art in various mediums produced by more than 20 regional artists currently on exhibit at Stone Valley Arts. Your response to the art may include vivid description, commentary, imaginative leaps such as creating narrative or dialogue, giving voice to the subject, or even to the artist. Make the connection and explore the possibilities! The SVA gallery is open Sunday 1:00-4:00. Come by and choose a work of art to inspire your poem. Take notes, take a picture, go back to your writing space and take your time to write an ekphrastic poem. Then participate in a public reading in the SVA Gallery on Sunday, July 16 at 2:00 pm. at Stone Valley Arts at Fox Hill, 145 E. Main Street, Poultney VT 05764.
