The Photography of Joanna Garbisch at Norman Williams Public Library
Opening Reception: Friday, July 7, 4:00 – 5:30 PM
On exhibit through August 14
Photographer Joanna Garbisch’s interest in photography started in college when she was handed a Polaroid Camera for an art class. On graduating, she went to work for Polaroid’s color lab in Cambridge, MA. In the early 60’s, Dr. Land switched his attention from black and white to color, so in the lab Joanna and colleagues made the developer, positive and negative film from dyes and chemicals supplied by chemists. Within a year she was sent out to test the film in the real world and she never looked back. Over the years she has traveled and seen the world through the lens.
