Rural Vermont presents "Black Market Bounty": Storytelling and Harvest Potluck, Sunday, November 24th, 6 - 8:30pm at the Unitarian Church, 130 Main Street, Montpelier. Free! Donations benefit Rural Vermont. Following a shared potluck meal, farmers, food producers, and customers intrigue and entertain with true stories about making, raising, accessing, selling, and sourcing the best food you can’t buy. Ever hear the Moth on NPR? Or been to Barre-Montpelier's extempo? Same kind of thing ... except with a "black market" theme. And one of Brookfield's own - Jonathan Falby of Symphony Farm - will be among the featured storytellers!

"I've lassoed a 1200 pound steer and I'm holding the rope. Now what?"
"If the farm was going out, I was going out playing by my own rules."
"In a democracy, the rules and regulations that govern the sale of foods are not 'their rules', they are our rules, and if those rules no longer well serve the public, it is both our opportunity and responsibility to change them."
