Friday, July 7. 2017. 5:00 PM
The Friends of Willoughby State Forest is a non-profit organization, that is passionately committed to preserving the pristine nature of the forest and lake, in encouraging the responsible use of the nearly 8,000 acres encompassing the forest, the trails, and the south end of Lake Willoughby. One of our planned activities is to support the development and help with the maintenance of an interpretive trail that provides an educational experience about the CCC Camp 55 Please join us for our kick off for the CCC Camp 55 initiative on July 7th at our next Friends meeting. Our meeting will begin with a talk by Luke O’Brian, Recreation Specialist, FPR, formerly with the Northwood Stewardship Center.
Details- 5 PM at the Burke Mountain Clubhouse and Library on route 114 in East Burke across from the old River Garden Restaurant/Cafe While this is a small venue, the public is welcome to attend. It is a great opportunity to learn some very interesting local history within the Willoughby State Forest. Hope you can join us. The Friends monthly meeting will follow Luke's talk. Please feel free join us for this as well.
