Join Dr. John Cotter, Infectious Disease Specialist at Rutland Regional Medical Center, for this important and informative talk on the prevalent illnesses transmitted by ticks in Vermont. Dr. Cotter will provide accurate, scientifically-based information based on guidelines advocated by the Centers for Disease Control when explaining what happens to someone who is exposed to a disease-carrying tick. He will explore such diseases as Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, and Lyme Disease, including descriptions of treatment and essential information about the diagnosis and prevention of these diseases. Further, Dr. Cotter will explore some of the myths surrounding these diseases and dispel some of the false information that is circulating in the community and on media.
There will be a time of questions and answers after the talk. Refreshments will be provided. Registration is required for this free event.
