The 47th Antiques and Uniques festival needs your assistance! May I remind you what this event supports? Perhaps you do not even know?! How exciting.
The proceeds from Antiques and Uniques go to your favorite places in Craftsbury.... The library, Craftsbury Community Care Center, all three churches in town, the girls varsity soccer team, The Art House, the fire department... But, the businesses that the A&U proceeds support do not stop there! YOUR business or organization can benefit from Antiques and Uniques as well. You or your friends simply have to volunteer at the event, work a couple of hours and voila: you are cut a check a month or so after the event!
Furthermore, by proxy, the other businesses in town benefit from A&U. The stores have great sales this day, the event helps make the schools and Sterling College more appealing to out-of-towners and then some of them are like, "What. I did not even know the Craftsbury Outdoor Center existed until I went to Antiques and Uniques!" This is just what we want. For out-of-staters to come spend their beautiful money and then go home. Also, I've been watching the number of yard sales pop up on the same day of A&U... You like the extra folks in town, don't you?
This is all fun and games except Antiques and Uniques cannot be of this brilliant benefit to all of Craftsbury residents without volunteer power. I have been coordinating for 4 years and it is the exact same pool of extraordinary volunteers year after year. Is there any fresh blood out there?? We need you.
VENDOR LUNCH COORDINATOR about a 6 hour job. 2 hours the day before and 4 hours the day of. Do it with a friend!
PORTA-POTTY AND TRASH ORGANIZER Takes about 15 minutes once an hour- great for people who like to talk to the entire town between shifts
BUS DRIVER Have you wanted to drive a mini-van all your life? This is your chance. Drive in circles for 6 hours.
CLEAN UP FOOD TENT It is as charming as it sounds. Plus, you get the left-overs! :)
If you have always been the one to sink lower in your chair and act very busy looking at something on the floor when a request goes out for volunteers- this event is not for you. If, however, you've wanted to volunteer your entire life but are nervous that you'll get called again next year and the year after... Then volunteer this year and change your phone number next year.
