Let's Get Moving! A get in your body movement opportunity this Saturday, June 24th.

Thank you for sharing the information about Nia in the park the other! I want to make a small correction to the post which is my website address: www.LoveYourBodyVT.com (the post missed the VT)

Nia in the park...

Do you love to listen to music? Do you ever find yourself wanting to stretch and shift your body to wake up and feel a little awkward? or Maybe you are an experienced mover and curious about trying something new? Maybe you've been practicing Nia for years and have never danced outside?

Regardless of where you are in your relationship with movement, Nia offers the tools to deepen your awareness of your body. We use simple movements and place attention on our physical body to increase awareness of sensation, ultimately to increase the sensation of pleasure. It is my goal this summer to share Nia with as many new people as possible. Please, come try it out!

Here is a quick exercise to give you a tiny taste of using a Nia based tool, you can do this standing or sitting: Place your feet flat on the floor. Sense the edges of your feet. Begin to "rock around the clock", tracing with the outside edges of both feet. Notice how this simple movement gets your toes, the long bones of your feet, and your ankles all moving.

We will get every part of your body moving, fingers to toes and head to tail. You will feel refreshed, energized and I bet (even if it is your first time), you will walk away with at least 1 tool that you can use again to connect you to your body in times of stress, or craziness. It doesn't matter how experienced you are with moving. You can do this.

MOVING OUTSIDE: There really is nothing like dancing on the grass in your bare feet. We use our feet as sensory receptors and when we mix it up a little, like being on the grass with the little bumps, lumps and waves of the earth under foot, we gain even more insight into our balance, stability, and strength. To look up at the sky, take in the trees, listen to the birds and sense the air on our skin... it is pretty darn awesome.

Have I convinced you to come try it yet? ;) I hope so! There is a small chance of rain... If it is pouring, I will not have class, so lets hope for no rain.

There will be 3 more Classes after this Saturday.
