Past event
Jun 21, 2017, 7 to 8 PM

What's your favorite fermented food? Did you know some of our most delicious food is created with the help of microscopic organism? That civilization itself might have formed to reap the benefits of these creatures in an organized fashion? Join us at the Bixby Library to discuss fermentation--techniques, health benefits, lore, flavor and perception, and the myriad of transformations we can induce on our food to preserve and enrich it. Several experience fermentation enthusiasts will be on hand to contribute to the discussion, so bring your questions or your curiosity. June 21st at 7pm in the library's Community Room. This event is part of our monthly "Coffeehouse Series" that endeavors to inspire discussion and engagement on a variety of topics that might interest you. Questions to muir.haman@bixbylibrary.org.
