Hailing from the Green Mountains of Vermont, Tin Penny plays a mix of folk, blues, ragtime and americana. Their repertoire consists of original compositions and covers of old favorites, including traditional songs and tunes by John Prine, Iris Dement, Bob Dylan, Randy Newman, Phil Ochs and others. Larry and Beth Welton, who play together as Tin Penny, have performed all over Vermont, from the Town Green in Manchester to the Fisk Farm on Isle La Motte, and at various venues in Bennington, Arlington, Barre, Plainfield, Dorset, Townshend, Brandon, Stratton, Killington, Rutland, and Burlington.

They take pride in creating a musical experience that is both original and traditional, and which can be enjoyed by all ages. Larry, born in NYC and raised in Vermont, has played guitar, autoharp, and various other musical entities for over 30 years. He lived most of his life in Brandon, Vermont, and now resides in Barre Town, VT. Beth was born Beth Willenbring in Ridgefield, Connecticut, where she wrote her first tune, "Let's Get Together and Have a War" during the Vietnam War era. After spending several years in Manchester, Larry and Beth moved to Barre in 2016 to be closer to family (and to enjoy the cultural history and natural beauty of the Real Vermont.)
