Alternative Business Models Teach-In

In response to the upcoming sale of Burlington Telecom, this coming Monday evening, June 19, City Council President, Jane Knodell is sponsoring an informational event to showcase Alternative Models for Businesses. "Alternative" means Cooperatives, Public Benefit Corporations, and Low-Profit Corporations.

Featured speakers are Roberta MacDonald, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Cabot Creamery Cooperative and Kenneth Merritt, who led the drafting of the Vermont Benefit Corporation ("B Corp") legislation.

The Alternative Models for Businesses Teach-In will take place at 7 PM, June 19 at Burlington City Arts, 135 Church St., 2nd Floor. Refreshments will be served.

The purpose of this event is to inform City councilors, BTAB (Burlington Telecom Advisory Board), and the general public about the benefits and costs of alternatives to the typical corporate model.

Please come to this event to learn more about these alternatives and to show your support for cooperative ownership of Burlington Telecom.
