The Longest Day Rally on Church Street

June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness month. The Alzheimer's Association will host activities this month to raise awareness for the over 12,000 Vermonters currently living with the disease and to celebrate the more than 30,000 Vermonters (friends, family members, neighbors) serving as their unpaid caregivers.

The Longest Day is all about love. Doing what we love to honor those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. For them, every day can feel like the longest day.

On Wednesday, June 21, please join the Alzheimer's Association for The Longest Day Rally on Church Street. It is a celebration of caregivers and will begin at 5:30pm on the steps of Burlington's City Hall. Our featured speaker is Sara Byers, President of Leonardo's Pizza, who will share her family's experience with Alzheimer's disease. After the Rally, please enjoy a meal at either Leunig's Bistro or Halvorson's Upstreet Cafe. They will donate 10% of your dinner food bill to The Longest Day.

The Alzheimer's Association and Kinney Drugs are teaming up to show a little love to caregivers. From June 21-30, nominate a caregiver - even yourself - to receive a free care package delivered to your home, courtesy of Kinney Drugs. Check out alz.org/vermont for more details
