Newport resident and veteran Leslie Battles who has worked with homeless people will be leading a demonstration to raise awareness about homeless people and the need for a homeless shelter in Newport with special concern for veterans on Sunday, June 25 at 2 PM at The Fish in front of the Hebard Building in Newport. We originally wanted to do it a few months ago but to be honest we couldn't face standing outside in the cold and rain. So how do you think it is for people who have nowhere to go in the winter? But we're doing the demo now, so join us. We will have boxes and or tents, signs and literature. All welcome.
