Connecting to Nature with Photography
Led by: Sean Beckett
Coordinated by: Elise Schadler
Saturday, June 17th (rain date Sunday June 18th)
TIME: 7:00 - 8:30pm
LOCATION: Ethan Allen Park

Many people say the camera is a barrier between ourselves and nature. But with the right technique, cameras help us discover features and feelings hidden in our wild places. Join us for an evening exploration of Ethan Allen Park, using our cameras to find deeper connections with local nature. Sean Beckett will fuse compositional technique, camera skills, and ecological inquiry to teach workshop participants how to make photography part of their naturalist toolkit. This workshop is free and open to all. No photography experience is required, but participants must bring their own camera (even iPhones are fine!). Registration is limited to 18 participants and pre-registration is required.

The workshop will be led by Sean Beckett. Sean is a naturalist and wildlife photographer who connects people to nature by-way-of their camera lenses. Sean is an alum of UVM’s Field Naturalist graduate program, a Burlington native, and a world-class wildlife photography guide. His most recent work involves building relationships between people and place here in Vermont’s Queen City.

This workshop is part of a three-part series of art workshops inspired by and held in Burlington’s natural landscapes. The series is coordinated through the Burlington Master Naturalist Program, a program of the City of Burlington's Department of Parks, Recreation, & Waterfront.
