Meeting of the East Montpelier and Calais Historical Societies

The E. Montpelier and Calais Historical Societies will meet this Monday, June 19 at 6:00 p.m. at the Chapell Farm in East Montpelier at the intersection of Center Road, Templeton Road (coming from the County Road) and Lyle Young Road (coming from the Four Corners Schoolhouse). Bring your own “brown bag/picnic supper” and a chair. Drive in by the sugarhouse on Center Road. Outdoor footgear and bug spray is advised. There will be a shelter if it is raining, though if it is predicted to be raining hard we will cancel by Monday midday via email or phone calls. We will hear about the history of the farm from owner Bruce Chapell, and as we take a walking tour of the 1877 barn we will learn of its modern day enterprises.
