Permaculture for Kids!

Past event
Jun 20, 2017, 10 to 11 AM

The summer reading theme is "Build A Better World" and the Greensboro Free Library is celebrating this theme by offering a Permaculture workshop for children ages 6+ led by Holly Cook on Tuesday June 20th at 10am. All are welcome to this free event.
Permaculture is a word for creating environments that benefit people and all the other living things we share this world with, while creating great abundance for all. Its motto is "Care of People, Care of Planet, Share the Surplus"
Do trees really talk to each other? Can gathering water on a rooftop grow vegetables while cooling the building underneath, and preventing flooding? Does planting certain plants together make all the plants grow better?
Through games and activities Holly Cook will guide us in exploring some of these
questions and learn what some of the interactions are that are taking place unseen around us all the time, and that we can learn to work with to make a better world for all.
