If you are thinking about doing hte Mississquoi Paddle and Pedal (see my other posting) Lake Carmi state park is nearby for a Friday night stay, and while reservations have a two-nite minimum, you can drive in and stay one night only. Plenty of spots available Friday night (just not lake front spots). (And I just called park to confirm this).
