Invasive Bugs at the Library

Past event
Jun 8, 2017, 7 to 8 PM

No - we don't have an infestation of bugs at the Library! We do, however, have a very informative and entertaining program on THURSDAY JUNE 8 from 7 - 8pm for all ages. This FREE program is about the threat of the Asian Longhorned Beetle, Emerald Ash Borer and Hemlock Woolly Adelgid to Vermont’s trees and economy.

Learn how to identify these three major pests (samples of DEAD BUGS), how to identify signs of their presence, how to help prevent infestations caused by the movement of firewood, and what to do if you see one of the invaders. Hand-outs to help in identification will be available for all participants to take home. Bug TATTOOS for everyone!

This program will be led by Carolyn & Gary Katz, with materials and information from a University of Vermont Extension Service.
