Shirley Jean “Cripps” Zybura

Shirley Jean “Cripps” Zybura, born Dec. 25, 1930 passed away at the age of 87 on Feb. 10, 2017. Shirley was married to Henry (Zippy) Zybura and worked at Norwich University in the 1980’s and 1990’s as the secretary for the Social Services Department. Her husband Zippy also worked at Norwich University for many years in the bookstore and then in the International Center.
They were long-time residents of Northfield, VT (1970-2000) and well respected among the community. They lived in the old Northfield School House and then on West Hill Road.
Shirley leaves behind a daughter, Debbie and her husband Ken, grandchildren Tracy and Kevin. She was also a loving aunt to all of her many nieces and nephews and their families as well as her great nieces and great nephews and great grandchildren.
Shirley will be reunited with her sisters, Marergue Connelly and Barbara Hepburn Axton, a brother Alan Lyons and her parents Betty Ann Cripps, 1/8/1994, and Arthur William Cripps, 1/25/1971. Shirley is also predeceased by her best friend and beloved companion for many years, her dog Fast-Runner.
Shirley always had a smile on her face to go along with her lively and fun-loving personality which will be missed by all who knew her. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Northfield, VT on Saturday June 10 at 11:00 a.m and a gathering at 85 Smith Hill Road in Northfield, VT afterwards. Enjoy lunch and share memories with loved ones.
