Melanie Finn spent her childhood in Kenya and has traveled the world as a journalist and documentary filmmaker. She wrote her second novel, The Gloaming, after giving birth to twins and feeling a need to find a hopeful world in which to raise her daughters. This luminous book takes the reader from tony parties in Switzerland to a poorly supplied doctor’s office in remote Tanzania in its exploration of shame, revenge, and forgiveness.
