An application for a proposed 8000 sq ft industrial building/truck depot with 24 hour tractor trailer truck mechanics, outdoor truck wash and outdoor parking for the tractor trailer trucks is being presented to the zoning board this Wednesday evening the 6/7/17 at 7 at the town offices. The trucking fleet is at least 9 tractor trailer trucks (we were told they hope to grow the business) including numerous sleeper cab trucks, petrochemical tanker trailers and is projected to expand.
This business according to their website hauls only petrochemicals, petroleum and hazardous materials. This business will sit beside wetlands bordering and sloping to the Little Otter Creek. The proposed business will be in a 100% residential neighborhood on Tuppers Crossing Rd just off route 7 . It will be in plain view of route 7 and on the route of the Champlain bikeway and Kingsland Bay State Park. The proposed site can be viewed on Tuppers Crossing rd now. They started mining and site work (with no permit) last summer and it cannot be missed.
If anyone would like to add their two cents, or just listen to the presentation, the meeting is open to the public. ALL neighbors in the area have grouped together to fight this from hurting our quality of life. We live here for the rural beauty, history and charm of this town. We believe this heavy industrial, petrochemical business, does not belong in this location. If you can help support us please come. THANKS a million.
