Deobrat Mishra Benefit Concert Series Presented by DAYA Foundation and Benares Academy of Indian Classical Music. Deobrat Mishra is a celebrated Indian sitarist and composer, and an exponent of the esteemed Benares Gharana school of Hindustani classical music. The son of Pandit Shivnath Mishra, a legend of Sitar from this Gharana, he will be bringing his energetic and innovative playing style to Vermont in June for a series of rare performances.

Since 1994 Deobrat has been touring throughout India, Europe, and North America. His many projects include music workshops, solo performances for radio and television as well as world music programs with Indian and European artists. Moreover, he provides music lessons at the Academy of Indian Classical Music, the school he founded along with his father, Pandit Shivnath Mishra, in 2006.Deobrat is one of India’s leading cultural ambassadors of our times and his performance is sure to be a treat for all lovers of music. Proceeds will benefit the Benares Academy of Indian Classical Music, where Deobrat teaches, and the DAYA foundation prison yoga programs.
