The Calais Conservation Commission will be meeting on Monday, June 5 at 7:00 at the Town Office. After discussing green burials, we will be talking about how to deal with the invasive plants in Calais, especially along the roadsides where they can spread if they are mowed after they've gone to seed. The primary plants of concern include wild chervil, goutweed (a/k/a Bishop's weed), wild parsnip, and Japanese knotweed. We welcome members of the public to join us in working on developing a plan to try to stop their spread.
