Posting this for a friend.

The Adamant Blackfly Festival is next Sat, June 3, from 9am - 4pm, rain or shine at the Adamant Co-op.

Here are 4 reasons to join us!

1. WILDLIFE. Celebrate blackflies, birds, bugs, and more with local naturalist Richard Czaplinski on a morning walk along the shores of Sodom Pond. New for kids: a scavenger hunt. Complete the hunt and win a blackfly tattoo!

2. WORDPLAY. Read or perform (3 minute time limit) a piece of your own writing in our 2nd annual writers’ slam. Geof Hewitt is hosting, so you know it will be fun. Lunch on the house for the winner!

3. LIVE MUSIC. Original songs, French Canadian dance tunes, Celtic music, and more— performed LIVE by The Crones, Sole, John Smyth, Susannah and Ellie Blachly, Tom MacKenzie & Patti Casey, Rick Winston & Franklin Heyburn.

4. FAB FOOD. Grillmeisters, salad mavens, and some of the best bakers in the county will be on hand to help you fill your plate with jumbo hot dogs, chicken sausage, salmon and veggie burgers, delectable salads and baked goods.

And one more thing.... THE DAY IS MORE FUN THAN THOUGHT HUMANLY POSSIBLE. There is a zany parade, a blackfly pie contest, an auction, and more. Antennae optional. Complete schedule at http://www.blackflyfestival.org/schedule.php

All activities are free and fun for all ages. So grab a blanket or your lawn chair and head out to Adamant!
