The eighth annual Rhubarb Festival is coming Saturday, June 3 to the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society (CVUUS) on Duane Court in Middlebury, from 10a.m to 2p.m. There will be an abundance of homemade rhubarb pies, but come early for strawberry-rhubarb; also sweets and savories for sale. You’ll find gently used children’s books, bling, scarves; and a variety of home-grown plants, all for very low prices. While you’re shopping, your little ones can stop in the Sanctuary foyer for face painting by Sharon Leach.
The indoor Rhubarb Café will offer a sandwich/salad, drink, and rhubarb-themed dessert for $5. No tickets need be purchased in advance. Serving at the café begins at 10:30. Café profits will help pay for our high school service trip to New York City this month. Festival profits also support a local nonprofit.
There will be live music: Scottish fiddlers, singing groups, and soloists will delight the ear throughout the day.
Parking for the handicapped is available behind the church and at the nearby high school lot for all. Call 388-8080 Friday morning for information, or go to www.cvuus.org.
