Join BEEC naturalist Patti Smith at the Museum for an intimate story of porcupines. patti has spent many hours in the company of porcupines, including, Burdock, an orphaned youngster found near the grounds of the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum. When she released him in December 2015, she was able to track his movements, and was introduced to a community of six porcupines sharing a winter den area. During this presentation she will share the surprising relationships she observed, and developed, with these curious creatures, illustrated with slides and video footage. The adventure has continued, and this presentation will include porcupine stories from the past winter and spring.
