Mt. Philo State Park Opening Day May 26

Past event
May 26, 2017

Welcome to another season at Mount Philo State Park. We will be opening the road access gate and the facilities (bathrooms, lodge, camp ground) on Friday, May 26th at 10:00 AM. Entrance fees will apply on opening day.

We have 3 different types of “season passes”. All of our passes allow entrance to any of our 55 State Parks. (Three new State Parks were added this past year!) This is a great way to support our State Parks and experience all the beautiful areas of Vermont. All passes are available for purchase at the lower contact station. Please consider purchasing your season pass even if you use the Park off season/off hours. It is a great way to show your support for this fabulous resource to our local community.

1. Individual pass ($30.00) is good for only that individual for the entire season.

2. Car pass ($90.00 1st - $50.00 2nd) allows family, friends, relatives or whomever is in the car access to the parks. This is a small sticker that is placed on your car and is good for the entire season.

3. Punch pass ($30.00) which never expires and allows for 10 visits and can be shared.

In addition the Vermont Agency of Human Resources offers the “Green Mountain Passport” to legal residents of Vermont who are 62 years of age or older AND to Veterans of the uniformed services. Apply at your town clerk’s office and pay a $2.00 lifetime fee. This passport allows entrance to all Vermont State Parks and Historic Sites.

We love seeing folks and their four legged family members enjoying the resources and we feel fortunate to have such a wonderful place to walk/hike with our pups. Please help us and pick up their waste. There are now three Dogi-Pot stations. One by the lower notice board near the entrance, another about 1/2mile up the road and one where the road divides. They are all equipped with bags and a disposal receptacle. Leaving a tied baggie on the roadside or trail side, etc. doesn't count. We have doggie watering stations located on the summit, in front of the contact station, and by the Lodge restrooms. Please show common courtesy and respect the space of other visitors, other dogs, gardens and Ranger’s Quarters at the summit. During the operating season dogs are required to be on leash at all times.

As always, comments and suggestions are always welcomed. We are looking forward to a safe and fun season and hope to see you often.

Warm Regards,

John and Kim Frigault Park Rangers Mount Philo State Park
