On June 11th at 2:00 PM, a presentation will take place at the Plymouth Community Center Route 100 to dedicate a new Community Center sign and a Memorial Garden honoring Eliza Ward. The garden, originally planted by the Plymouth Elementary School and resurrected by Midge and Bruce Tucker, features both perennials and annuals and is ringed by donated bricks memorializing loved ones and other individuals. The garden is flanked by a bench for quiet meditation and was given by a generous anonymous donor. The new sign, researched by Midge Tucker and Lauren Skaskiew, will advertise The Plymouth Schoolhouse Licensed Childcare and Historical Society Museum, both currently residing in the building, and other pertinent information of future events.
The program will include a history of Eliza’s life in Plymouth and stories by people who knew and loved her. Refreshments will follow in the Historical Society museum. Anyone who wishes to order a memorial brick for the garden should contact Midge Tucker at midgetucker@gmail.com or 802-672-3086. The cost of the brick is $25.50 and includes 6 lines for script, 20 characters per line including spaces. Order forms will also be available at the dedication.
