First being Nancy Heydinger Director of Girls on the Run Vermont followed by Gordon McFarland. McFarland was one of five founding members of the Vermont City Marathon in 1988 who, after moving here from Boston, thought "Let's start a marathon!"He served as the first race director for the marathon from 1988 to 1992.
