The Monkton Museum and Historical Society will be holding a Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Monkton Boro Cemetery. The graves of soldiers buried in the cemetery will be visited and brief information about each soldier will be read. Because of the sloping terrain of the cemetery, attendees should wear appropriate shoes. If there is sun on Monday, please don't forget the sunscreen. Parking will be along the west (cemetery) side of Pond Road or at the Park and Ride area near Monkton Central School.

In the event of rain or wet grass, the observance will be held at the Monkton Town Hall. Since there is limited parking at the Town Hall and near the Russell Library, if there is rain, carpooling to the observance is encouraged.

Everyone is welcome to join us to honor the soldiers who served in times of war as well as other deceased soldiers who proudly served our country.
