Pollinator Gardens

Past event
Jun 1, 2017, 7 to 8:30 PM

Bats, bees, birds, butterflies… what do these creatures have in common? They are all pollinators!
Carol MacLeod, owner of Evergreen Gardens will be discussing pollinator habits on Thursday, June 1st at the Waterbury Public Library from 7-8:30 in the SAL room. Whether you are thinking of putting in window boxes or are planning a perennial garden, come learn about the selection and placement of your plants to best attract these necessary creatures. Now more than ever, with the populations of bats, bees, birds and butterflies under pressure, it is important to support pollinators! 75% of flowers and crops require pollination, and the pollinators also need to feed themselves and reproduce as they assist plants in their reproductive cycle.
Call 244-7036 to register. For more information visit the Waterbury Public Library’s website at www.waterburypubliclibrary.com.
