Festival In the Greens, a celebration of spring and nature, will take place at Spirit in Nature in Ripton on Saturday May 27th, 2017, from 7a.m. to 3pm. If you have never been to Spirit in Nature, (SpIN), or even if you have, this will be a chance to explore these enchanting and interconnecting trails and streams, and participate in guided walks and meditation, poetry, dance, drawing, and music. SpIN’s 70 acre forest is home to 14 winding trails, each one reflecting a different faith perspective. Poems and quotes are posted along the many pathways, and a labyrinth set in a pine stand invites contemplation.
The day will begin with a 7a.m. bird walk led by Craig Zondag, followed by a choice of activities, including a poetry and writing experience with Susan Jefts, Earth Stories and the participatory Dance of Elms with Marc Lapin, Buddhist and Pagan Path walks led by Don Glauber and Ron Slabaugh, Zen and the Art of Seeing drawing experience led by Bobbie Carnwath, and meditations at the labyrinth.
At noon there will be a potluck lunch which all are invited to. Participants are encouraged to bring their own utensils and a food item to share.
All events will take place at Spirit in Nature in Ripton, located on the Goshen Road, 4/10 mile south of Route 125. For information call Craig Zondag at 802-453-7237. The event will take place rain or shine.
