Harwood Union Blood Drive May 30

Past event
May 30, 2017, 10:30 AM to 4 PM

The Harwood Union Student Government is sponsoring a blood drive on Tuesday, May 30th from 10:30AM-4PM in the Middle School Multi-purpose Room. Blood donors must be at least 17 years of age, or 16 with parental consent, weigh 110 pounds or more and be in good health on the day of donation. Young people under the age of 19 may need to meet additional height and weight restrictions. Parent consent forms for 16 year-olds can be downloaded at http://www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-in donors from the community are always welcome.

Donors can safely give blood every eight weeks and most medications and medical conditions do not prevent someone from being a blood donor. The Red Cross encourages healthy adults to give blood and share their good health with those who must rely on blood transfusions. To find a Red Cross blood drive, or to make an appointment, call 1-800 RED CROSS or visit online at redcrossblood.org.

Please direct any questions to Nancy VanDine or Chloe Riven.

If you are still not convinced to give here are a few other compelling reasons to consider donating:
-Fresh baked goods and other delicious refreshments are being served all day to donors..
-Young people who begin donating in high school tend to be lifelong donors…. so think about the potential blood donating capacity this will create.

Please give blood to a friend, a neighbor or a stranger. Your help is needed now more than ever.
