Community Contra Dance! Mark Your Calendars

Join friends and neighbors at a Community Contra Dance on Sunday, June 11th, 4-6 at the North Hero Community Hall. “Mark Sustic and Young Tradition Vermont” fiddle players, Romy and Ben Munkres will be sure to make this a fun and enjoyable experience.

Contra dancing requires no prior experience and no partner needed. It is a traditional dance form and is a perfect way for old and young people to enjoy dancing together in an easy and fun way. Contra music is traditional and lively. Romy and Ben are young musicians from Cornwall, Vermont who have performed with “Young Tradition Vermont”” in Ireland and Cape Breton. Mark Sustic is an educator and musician. He is the founder and director of “Young Tradition Vermont”. Mark has taken this unique group of young musicians to festivals and performances all over Europe. www.youngtraditionvermont.org Contra dances are done in lines of couples or in circles. The caller, Mark Sustic in this case, teaches the dance so that everyone feels successful and has fun at the same time. This is a family event appropriate for children and adults sponsored by the North Hero Parks and Recreation Committee and organized by Pam Cuneo and Dwayne Cormier.

Admission at the door: $8 for 18 and older. Under 18 FREE!
