Capital City Concerts Final Concert May 19 in Middlebury and May 20 in Montpelier
Capital City Concerts presents its final concert of the season, The Sublime and the Mellifluous featuring seven renowned performers including the longtime cellist of the Juilliard String Quartet Joel Krosnick, and NYC violinist Laurie Smukler on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 7:30PM at the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Society of Middlebury, and Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 7:30PM at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier.
Karen Kevra, Artistic Director of Capital City Concerts said, "Laurie Smukler is at the center -- at the very top of the the chamber music world in New York City. The musicians she brings to Capital City Concerts are the best of the best. You'll see their names on the glassed-in concert announcements outside of Lincoln Center. Laurie chooses substantial repertoire, the kind of masterpieces our audiences crave.”
Smukler will be leading the ensemble in Brahms' String Sextet No. 2, Op. 36, Schoenberg's Romantic, Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night) and Kevra will join them in Mozart's, Flute Quartet in D major, K. 285.
