Tick-Smart Discussion Monday

Past event
May 15, 2017, 6 to 7:30 PM

Got ticks? Got kids? I thought I was well-informed about tick-borne disease prevention, and then two tick bites in my son's first year of life sent me on a mission to get better prepared and get back in the woods without so much fear.

Please join us at a free discussion on Monday May 15 at 6pm at the Carpenter Carse Community Room (door to the left of library entrance), where I will share some resources I've found helpful, what's in my family's "tick kit", the value we've found in tick testing, interventions in the landscape around our home and pets, and other ideas/observations that I haven't heard people talk much about. I am a biologist by training and have some knowledge of plant medicine, but not a medical professional or authority on the subject. I'm guessing there is a lot of knowledge/experience in this community so I look forward to learning something new. Feel free to email me with questions beforehand. I will also have a few pairs of tick-specific tweezers on hand ($6/ea) if you need to buy some.
