Past event
Jun 3, 2017, 10 AM to 1 PM

Join Steps to End Steps to End Domestic Violence (formerly Women Helping Battered Women) for their brand new event, Take Steps In Their Shoes, at ArtsRiot in Burlington on June 3, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. and to 1:00 p.m. This event will raise needed funds to support direct services to those fleeing violence, as well as educational programs to help prevent domestic and dating violence.

This event combines an awareness raising walk with a silent auction and storytelling session. The event begins with a walk through the Pine St. corridor of Burlington’s South End. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple shoes as a sign of solidarity in the fight against domestic violence. The walk concludes at ArtsRiot with a silent auction and the presentation of personal stories by those who have been affected by domestic violence.

Steps to End Domestic Violence is Vermont’s largest domestic violence service provider and has been working to address the needs of those affected by domestic violence in Chittenden County for over 40 years. Last year, Steps to End Domestic Violence served over 5,000 women, men and children.
