How about both?
Charlotte resident Stephen P. Kiernan will be wrapping up the book tour for his latest fantastic WWII-era novel, *The Baker's Secret*, with a book discussion at Shelburne Town Hall on Tuesday, May 23, from 7-8:30 pm.
What makes this author event extra special is that the book is already out, so you'll have a chance to read it before Stephen's talk and discuss it with the author himself, along with your friends, book group members, and area book lovers.
Not to say too much, but there just may be some surprise taste treats at the event, as well.
THE BAKER'S SECRET has already received two starred reviews. Library Journal says, "...his moving and thought-provoking work of historical fiction will be popular with lovers of other recently popular World War II novels such as Anthony Doerr's All the Light We Cannot See and Kristin Hannah's The Nightingale." Booklist calls it "a beautifully written account of the emotional and moral struggles of a people gripped by fear in the depths of WWII."
If you've never read Stephen's books, stop thinking of him as someone you know, and treat yourself to the newest book by an author of true national renown!
All readers are welcome, and this would be a great event for book group friends to attend together!
RSVPs welcome though not required to flyingpigevents@gmail.com (will help with food and beverage planning)
