Many invasive plants, some noxious, are moving into our area. Now is the time to "nip them in the bud" at the beginning of the growing season. Invasive plants are a threat to the health of our forests and natural areas. We're mobilizing our forces to work towards positive solutions and we need your help! Join Elizabeth Spinney, Invasive Plant Coordinator for Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation in this 3 hour workshop sponsored by Caledonia Grange 9, Greensboro Land Trust, and the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation.
Learn how to id and map common invasive plants that are here.
This free workshop will be hands-on and will visit several sites around the area with invasive plants.
You will gain skills you can use at home or in your community.
The goal is to teach invasive plant ID and how to use your mobile devices or home computer to help a citizen science project collect data on where invasive plants are found around the state.
Please RSVP so we can provide adequate materials and equipment.
