S.B Community Chorus: for the Beauty of the Earth

The South Burlington Community Chorus, under the direction of Matthew LaRocca, will present songs inspired by Nature and the Earth. Some are beautiful, some powerful, some whimsical. Highlights include John Rutter’s ‘For the Beauty of the Earth’, Eric Whitacre’s ‘Animal Crackers Vol.1 & 2’, Ola Gjeilo’s ‘Northern Lights’ and many more. The concert will also feature the world premiere performance of an original composition by an exceptionally talented student from Harwood Union High School in Duxbury, VT, entitled ‘Uvavnuk’s Song’, based on the text from the Canadian Inuit “angekkuq” (spiritual healer/oral poet) over one hundred years ago.
