VT LIONS CLUB FUNDRAISING WALK FOR SIGHT!

WHAT: Short stroll for a good cause, viewing our city statues
WHEN: Sign up for the walk between 10 a.m and 12 p.m.
WHERE: Tatro’s Appliances at 74 S. Main St., Barre

The VERMONT STATE LIONS CLUBS are holding a state-wide fundraising WALK FOR SIGHT. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through downtown Barre, viewing the city statues and raising money for a wonderful cause.

Proceeds will purchase glasses, vision screening equipment or assistance for community members with hearing impairments.

In 1925, Helen Keller asked the Lions to be her “Knights of the Blind”. Help us continue to fulfill this mission. In Washington County, the Lions Club annually provides glasses to over 100 needy community members and screens the vision of approximately 3,500 children.

Any size donation is gratefully accepted, and T-shirts will be awarded to individuals with $50 in donations, or $100 for sponsors. Also, $500 has been donated for cash prizes to be drawn at the end of the event.

A walk-a-thon registration form is available by calling 479-9002. You can also register between 10-12 pm on May 20, the day of the walk at Tatro’s Appliance.
