Free Basics of Backyard Composting Workshop

Join us for a FREE workshop to celebrate International Compost Awareness Week. The Green Solutions Club of Johnson State College is co-hosting a Basics of Backyard Composting workshop this Thursday, May 11 at 6:00 pm. The workshop will be held in the 1867 Room of Dewey Hall. Directional signs will be posted from the main parking lot (near Bentley Hall) to Dewey.

Come learn from a Master Composter and the LRSWMD Organics Specialist. The workshop will cover:

- What the Universal Recycling & Composting law requires
- Basics of how composting happens
- Discover a compost system that can work for your backyard
- What and what not to compost in your backyard
- How to troubleshoot your current compost pile

Lots of free take home resources are available! State funding has been awarded to provide Soil Saver compost bins and Green Cone digesters for 50% off at these workshops only!
