Mad Matt the Democrat: Vermont history talk by Vince Feeney. Thursday, May 11 at 7 pm at the Lincoln Library. Matthew Lyon was an indentured servant, Green Mountain Boy, son-in-law to Thomas Chittenden, land speculator, Congressman, entrepreneur, and one of the most colorful characters in Vermont’s early years. He was imprisoned in the Vergennes jail after speaking out against John Adams and the new government. Find out more about this colorful character in Vermont history. Refreshments served.
