Onion River Chorus Concerts

The Onion River Chorus will be presenting "Masterworks from the German Choral tradition" on Sat., May 13th and Sun., May 14th at 7:30 pm at the Unitarian Church in Montpelier. Admission at the door is $15 adults, $12 seniors/students and $30 family. Advance tickets may be purchased from chorus members or at the North Branch Cafe in Montpelier.

Works by J.S. Bach include "Jesu Meine Freude" and "Lobet den Herrn", two of Bach's longer and more complex motets. Works by Heinrich Schutz include three dramatic short motets: "Das ist je gwisslich wahr", "Die mit tranen saen" and "Was betrubst du dich meine Seele". Works by Hugo Distler include his two major works, "Wachet Auf" and "Das ist je gewisslich wahr", as well as several shorter pieces. The chorus will be accompanied by Lynnette Combs or organ and Tom Jocks on cello.

The Onion River Chorus is open to all singers and performs a challenging repertoire from all musical time periods. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings at 7pm at the Christ Church in Montpelier.
