VUHS Class of 2017 Annual Walk-A-Thon
The VUHS senior tradition for the past nine years has been to "Walk for a Cause" and it usually takes place in the fall; but this senior class, on their own terms, scheduled it for the spring. This annual senior walk-a-thon will be an all-day event May 17th. The seniors are beginning their promotion and fundraising for this event. The money raised will support their cause of giving back to their elementary schools acknowledging their K-12 journey towards earning a high school diploma. Early on the morning of May 17th the seniors will walk 10 miles with a small group running 17 miles. Walkers will start in Colchester (runners will start at the UVM Children’s Hospital in Burlington). The destination is Camp Ta-Kum-Ta on Grand Isle.
Their challenge is to raise $3000 ($1000 for each of their elementary schools) in order to leave a Class of 2017 Scholarship for each school. Other years the senior class has donated a service day to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta and a "Back to Our Roots" service day at their elementary schools. On May 17th, they have combined all three of these service days into one walk. Please help them meet their goal by making a donation recognizing the Class of 2017's efforts to help younger children in their district follow in their footsteps.
