Vermont PBS & Good Shepherd Lutheran Church are presenting a free film screening and discussion of PBS’ BLACK AMERICA SINCE MLK. The event is Wednesday, May 10th at 6:30 PM at Good Shepherd, 273 VT Rte. 15, Jericho, located across from the junction of Rte. 15 and Browns Trace road.

Charles L. Pizer, the Community Engagement Director of Vermont PBS, will lead a discussion after the film screening of PBS’ BLACK AMERICA SINCE MLK : Touch the Sky. Episode 4 – Touch the Sky - deals with the effect of Hurricane Katrina, the significance of the election of Barack Obama and the difficulties he faced as a black president, as well as the shooting and police response to the peaceful protest of Michael Brown and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Others attending include Jane Williamson, Director of the Rokeby Museum; Bruce Post, former board member of the Rokeby Museum; and Anne Morse, professor of outdoor education at Sterling College.
