The next Vermont Virtuosi concert will feature the internationally renowned flutist Takeaki Miyamae performing music of Louis Moyse, Philippe Gaubert, C.P.E. Bach, Franz Doppler, and Jean Francaix. Joining Mr. Miyamae will be flutist and Vermont Virtuosi artistic director Laurel Ann Maurer and pianist Mary Jane Austin. Miyamae was a child prodigy who studied with legendary flutist Marcel Moyse. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, at the Montpelier Unitarian Church. Admission is free; donations ($10 suggested) are welcome.

Mr. Miyamae will also conduct a flute masterclass on Saturday, May 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Richmond Free Library. (Admission, $5; performer’s fee, $20.) To reserve a spot in the class, contact Laurel Ann Maurer at 802-881-9153.
