Shelburne Vineyard Fall Wine and Food Festival and Foodshelf Benefit
Each year for the past four years Shelburne Vineyard has held a Fall Wine and Food Fest, bringing together a select group of local specialty food and wine producers to sample and sell their wares. Rather than asking our usual Tasting Fee that day, we ask everyone who attends to bring along a donation of non-perishable food items for the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf. Last year this event generated over 3200 pounds of food to help sustain our hungry neighbors through the holiday season. With recent cutbacks in Food Stamp benefits, the Festival seems ever more important this year and we hope to generate a much larger collection of donations.
We hope you'll join the festivities at Shelburne Vineyard Tasting Room at 6308 Shelburne Road between 11 am-5 pm, this Saturday, November. 9. You'll have tasty samples from Cavendish Quail, Shelburne Farms, Vermont Creamery, Olivia's Croutons, It's Arthur's Fault, Blackflower Chocolates, Douglas Sweets, Vermont Smoke and Cure, Rustic Roots and wines from Eden Ice Cider, Artesano Mead, East Shore Vineyard and, of course, Shelburne Vineyard and everyone will have their products to sell, so bring along your holiday menus and gift lists to get an early start on your shopping. Sun Common will also be here to share information about their solar power installations.
Each vendor has also generously donated a raffle item and we'll draw raffle winners throughout the afterrnoon with 100% of the raffle cash donated to the Food Shelf. This is a family friendly event, and again, admission is free with a non-perishable Food Donation or cash donation to the Raffle. We hope you'll be able to stop by and help make this a happy community holiday!
