Orchard Valley Waldorf School 10th Annual Fall into Winter Fair is Coming!

Saturday, November 16 from 10:00am til 3:00pm.

The classrooms and hallways of our school will be filled with craft activities, music, games, puppet shows, storytelling, food, and our school store. You won't want to miss it

Performance & Events
Opening skit with Lady Summer and Prince Autumn and Co. Outside Straw bale Yurt

Storytelling performed by OVWS Grades teachers Straw bale Yurt
“Open Mike” in the strawbale yurt.

Ongoing Activities:
* Crystal Cave of the Snow Queen: Enchantment for young children.
* EE Craft Activities in the Kindergarten: young children can make their own gifts with a little help from a grownup
* Craft activities for all ages in the Grades building: children can make their own gifts
* Pocket Lady: wandering throughout the Fair, with pockets full of tiny treats.
*Artisan Raffle: Fabulous items generously donated by community members. Drawing at 2:45!
* Musical Cake Game: The winner gets a delicious homemade cake!
* Community Craft Sale: gorgeous handmade items provided by parents in our community.
* Danish Woolen Delight: Woolens from Denmark and Switzerland.
* Book Sale: A treasure of books from the Rudolph Steiner catalog, perfect for Waldorf families.

Welcome Booth in 1st Grade Classroom
10:00-closing: Purchase clothespin currency for crafts and activities, raffle tickets and make a donation to the school! Sign up here for a door prize!!!
Slide Show and Outreach Table in the Grades Great Room
Enjoy pictures of our children at work and play, festival life, class plays and field trips while talking with a board representative about the future of OVWS. Purchase a Liberty Chocolate Bar here and make a donation to the Annual Appeal!
Coffee Café in the 5th Grade classroom
10:00-closing: hot coffee, tea, cider and chocolate; sweet breads and muffins; desserts
Feel free to rest here and enjoy some down time.
Food Booth – outside of the 5th Grade classroom in the parking lot
11:00-closing Food extravaganza offering chicken or cheese quesadillas, millet/bean casserole, vegan shepherd’s pie, vegetable soup, beef chili, local artisan breads, and cheese.

Arts & Crafts Gift Making:

2nd Grade Classroom~
Clay Stars: Hand-paint a star made by Heather Stearns of Muddy Creek Pottery
Paper Making: Learn to make paper with Seneca Gonzalez and her crew from Heartbeet and create a beautiful gift card decorated with an array of paint and stamps
3rd Grade Classroom~
Bath Salts Mix a batch of soothing bath salts for someone you love or as a treat for you!
Candle Dipping Experience the art of candle making and enjoy the pleasure of natural beeswax
8th Grade Classroom~
Wet Felting A favorite, sensory experience – feel what it’s like to create with colorful wool
Dry Felting Put your hands to work - you’ll be surprised how easy it is to create a thing of beauty
Grades Hallway ~
Facepainting It would not be a fair without this favorite for children and grownups too!
Canvas Yurt ~
Recycled Art Gwen Lions of the Central VT Solid Waste District and Anna Williams, OVWS, class of 2008 will bring projects made from recycled material to the older student and enjoy conversations with them about recycling and composting.
Open Mike/Outdoor Games
Julia Martin, OVWS teacher and teen educator, will MC the open mike hours and lead the older students in volunteer service from 12-1 and an outdoor game at 2:00pm. DON’T MISS THIS!
