Reusable Shopping Bag Donation Drive!

Do you have extra reusable shopping bags? The Vermont Farmers Food Center's Health Care Share Program is seeking reusable bag donations for a public health project that connects Vermont families who are unable to afford or access fresh food with a weekly share of local produce. For twelve weeks of the growing season, Rutland Health Care Share participants receive a share of local produce, distributed to them in reusable bags at the VFFC building in downtown Rutland.

Our efforts to address the issue of food insecurity in Rutland can’t take effect unless we have the support of everyone in our community. That’s where you come in! If you have extra reusable shopping bags that you would like to donate to our program, please bring them to the last winter farmers market this Saturday, May 6 from 10:00-2:00 at 251 West St. in Rutland. Our AmeriCorps service member will have a table at the market to receive donations. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
